Dementia Care

Dementia care is a highly specialised discipline based on higher levels of staffing and appropriately trained staff. Coate Water Care has vast experience providing expert care for people living with dementia, which may include Alzheimer’s disease, dementia as the result of strokes and other causes.

The word dementia describes a set of symptoms that may include memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem-solving or language. Dementia is caused when the brain is damaged by diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease or a series of strokes. Dementia is progressive, which means the symptoms will gradually get worse.

When a person with dementia finds that their mental abilities are declining, they often feel vulnerable and in need of reassurance and support. The people closest to them – including their carers, friends and family – need to do everything they can to help the person retain their sense of identity and feelings of self-worth. At Coate Water Care, we pride ourselves on being part of that circle of family and carers dedicated to providing quality, caring support.
