Coate Water Care raises money for charities

As an organization, Coate Water Care is always keen to raise money for charities and our residents and staff also enjoy taking part in fundraising activities.

Coate Water Care’s teams have worked extremely hard during September and October so far, organising events to raise money for charities including Macmillan, Jeans for Genes, Dorothy House Hospice and our residents’ funds.

Across the board, we have managed to raise over £800!

One of our homes, Avebury House in Devizes, is currently raising money for Dorothy House Hospice Care as one of their lovely residents, Jean, is taking place in a 2.5 mile walk around the home … at the incredible age of 99!

We also like to give something back to the younger members of our communities, and have recently sponsored FC Abbeymeads Youth under 11 side with a smart blue matchday kit.

On a different note, residents at Mockley Manor in Warwickshire enjoyed a dislay and music to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights.

For our active residents we organize a whole range of care home activities, apart from the charity events

These include gardening, baking, sensory gardening, visits to local parks, trips to the theatre, days out at the seaside, music appreciation and live performances, poetry sessions, local history talks, exercise sessions, board games and puzzles, and yes, for those soap opera fans or crossword addicts, plenty of TVs, puzzles and board games, both in communal areas and individual rooms.

Some residents prefer a quiet sit down in the garden with their favourite carer. As with all our care, everything is bespoke and tailored to the individual and every Coate Water Care home has a dedicated Activities Coordinator who gets to know the residents and their needs.
