Ashbury Lodge Care & Nursing Home – Swindon

Ashbury Lodge Care Home is situated on the outskirts of Swindon in a handsome building right next to the beautiful Coate Water Country Park. We first opened in 2000 and now have 42 full-time residents.

Welcome to Ashbury Lodge, Swindon. “After 10 fulfilling years as a care professional it’s clear to me that physical surroundings have a huge impact on people’s well-being. Ashbury Lodge is a beautiful care home and being opposite Coate Water Country Park is a real bonus.

Our carers frequently accompany residents to the park where they can feed the ducks or enjoy sitting by the lake. It’s also a lovely place for family visitors to spend time with their relatives. I’d be delighted to welcome you to Ashbury Lodge and show you around our outstanding care home.”

Ashbury Lodge – Keeping active in a gorgeous location

Entertainment plays a central role in what we do at Ashbury Lodge. Two activities organisers offer a stimulating programme of events tailored to the ability and preferences of residents as a physically active lifestyle can significantly improve people’s quality of life at all stages of dementia. Some Ashbury Lodge residents enjoy sitting peacefully with their favourite carer in our sensory garden, others prefer a gentle stroll next to Coate Water lake. In addition we offer a busy programme of live music sessions, baking classes, Christmas parties, theatre trips, exercise sessions and day trips to the seaside.

“We observed that people were provided with the appropriate support and people’s dignity is promoted. The staff record information about people’s individual likes and dislikes with regards to food and nutritional health is being monitored. The provider has undertaken building work to provide a larger kitchen and a new lounge-dining room.”
